I did a ton of walking, rented a scooter, did a lot of sightseeing and enjoyed the delightful Greek cuisine. I love the history and the way Greeks have honored their history. Amazing country and a lovely place to visit. I wished I had a companion to share the sights with, however my family all had their own summer plans...oh well! I do love traveling with or without a companion. I just met a few folks and became instant buddies. Good thing I can talk to anyone! I did get a great opportunity to relax at my pace, something that should never be underestimated.
So the big question is did I honor my new vegetarian lifestyle? No, I had lamb...sorry, but I was so tempted. I did however, eat very healthy and enjoyed the food, culture, sights and the people.
I am now back (bummer) and on track with my new lifestyle. While traveling I met a young man who told me to read a book about flextarians (sp?). Supposedly the book is about how to bridge the world of vegetarianism and enjoy a modest carnivore lifestyle (meat in moderation? who knows!). I am having a hard time finding the book. But I know I will eventually find it.
My best meal there? I cannot decide....even their yogurt is different and delightful. Lamb never was this tender or savory! Never! I was blown away. Even the seafood tasted as if it was just caught minutes before my meals. Every single meal was freshly prepared and so delightful.... I must go back! I had a blast! OPA!
Enjoy the sig
